Competition Levels

Definition: Competition Levels is a concept by Philip Kotler in which he distinguishes 4 levels of competition, based on the degree of product substitutability:
- Brand Competition (between brands)
- Industry Competition (between industries)
- Form Competition (between companies supplying the same broad service e.g. transportation vehicles)
- Generic Competition (between companies competing for the same consumer money).
