Definition: Business Intelligence is the ability of an organization to collect, maintain, and organize data. This produces large amounts of information to assist decision making and implementing an effective strategy to achieve a competitive advantage.

Typical BI technologies include reporting, online analytical processing, data mining, process mining, complex event processing, business performance management, benchmarking, text mining, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics.
