Sociomapping

   

Definition: Sociomapping is a decision support approach used in for processing and visualizing relational data.
A visually coded picture is created that resembles a geographical map. This picture can be interpreted with similar rules as navigation in the landscape.
The actual pictures are called Sociomaps.
The idea behind using S is that people already know from everyday life how to orientate and navigate using a map and to use this intutive merthod to explore the relations in other complex data.
Typical usage areas are customer and market segmentation, marketing research, employee research, stakeholder mapping.
