Counseling

Definition: Counseling is giving career advice or guidance on career development, in making complex decisions or facing difficult situations.
Professional counselors, through their expertise in career management and labor markets, can put a person's qualification, experience, strengths and weakness in a broad perspective. By their people orientation and empathic listening, they can support their clients in gaining a better understanding of what really matters for them personally, how they can plan their careers, or help them in making tough decisions and getting through times of crisis.
The term is very similar to coaching, depending on the culture and country where it is used.
