Definition: the 3P Framework is a model by Prof. Ranjay Gulati that aims to resolve the organizational tension between employee empowerment (FREEDOM) and operational discipline (CONTROL). The idea is that these 2 components should be seen as the key 2 when defining how to achieve the company's Purpose (a single shared goal that sums up the "why" of the organization), Priorities (behavioral rules that reflect the organization's goals) and Principles (a simple set of principles growing out the organization's purpose and priorities, and helping employees to choose among reasonable options in their day-to-day work). |
