Organizational Learning

Definition: Organizational Learning is a knowledge area within organizational development theory that studies the way an organization learns and adapts using various models and theories.
Argyris and Schön (1978) defined OL as: "the detection and correction of error".
Dodgon (1993) described OL as: "The way firms build, supplement, and organize knowledge and routines around their activities and within their cultures and adapt and develop organizational efficiency by improving the use of the broad skills of their workforces".
Not to be mixed up with Senge's Learning Organization.
